The all-day conference aims to explore the intersection of Israeli cuisine and society through the lens of history, demographic changes and the integration of various cultures into the nation.
It features lectures and panel discussions featuring Israeli food scholars, writers, and chefs from around the world including Michael Solomonov, author of award-winning Zahav and 2017 James Beard Chef of the Year.
Dr. Nir Avieli, a senior lecturer in BGU’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology, will participate in a panel discussion on “Israeli-Arab Food Politics” at 2:30 p.m.
